Overview As Assistant Project Manager / Project Manager you will lead and coordinate capital water projects within AECOM’s Infrastructure Project Management team. You’ll manage the full project lifecycle from inception to delivery, working with clients, contractors and cross-functional teams to meet time, cost and quality targets. You’ll support and mentor junior staff and help develop procurement strategies and tender documentation. This role offers exposure to high-impact flood risk and water infrastructure initiatives across the UK regions.

Responsibilities - Lead or be part of project teams to deliver capital investment projects
- Provide client-side project management support across lifecycle stages (option studies to site delivery)
- Develop procurement strategies and support tender documentation
- Minimize disputes through proactive stakeholder engagement and clear communication
- Manage project governance, risk, H&S, quality, schedule and contract management
- Ensure outputs meet client satisfaction for quality, cost and time
- Mentor Graduates and Apprentices and support career development
- Support business development with existing and new clients
- Administer NEC4 contracts and project documentation through contract management systems
- Advise on procurement strategies and review tender documents
- Foster strong client and cross-functional relationships
Key requirements - Infrastructure project management experience in water (essential)
- Knowledge of NEC contracts (PSC and ECC), with NEC ECC accreditation desirable
- Experience in integrated, multi-organisational teams
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Relationship-building with clients and stakeholders
- Ability to work autonomously with Senior PMs/Associates
- Team player with proactive, adaptable attitude
- Strong IT skills and numerical/written communication abilities
- Willingness to support social/CSR activities
