Overview In this Project Manager role, you will deliver complex infrastructure and construction projects within a regulated defence environment from early design through delivery. You will work with client and delivery teams to manage design, controls, risk, cost and schedule, while upholding safety and compliance standards. The position offers frontline exposure to cross-functional collaboration on high-stakes programmes and requires SC clearance. This is a cross-disciplinary role that shapes project outcomes and supports continuous improvement in a regulated industry.

Responsibilities - Champion safety-first and uphold quality, programme, sustainability and compliance standards
- Manage delivery through early project lifecycle (RIBA Stages 2–4)
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and support design management
- Oversee project controls, reporting, risk, cost and schedule; provide updates to stakeholders
- Ensure governance and assurance compliance in regulated environments
- Foster effective collaboration across client, contractor and consultant teams
- Manage contractor performance, design coordination and issue resolution
- Support change control and maintain accurate project information
- Produce and present project reports, dashboards and performance updates
- Contribute to lessons learned and best practices across the project team
- Support delivery activities related to explosive safety requirements and Defence environments
Key requirements - Degree, HND/HNC or equivalent qualification relevant to project management, engineering, construction or built environment
- Proven experience delivering construction projects in complex environments
- Experience progressing projects through RIBA Stages 2–4
- Strong design management experience in client/consultant/contractor context
- Experience with project controls, reporting, risk and programme management
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-organisational collaboration
- NEC4 experience is essential; NEC4 accreditation desirable
- Experience in highly regulated sectors (Defence, Nuclear, Infrastructure, Transport or Government)
- Knowledge of Explosive Safety Regulations
- Membership (or progression) with a professional body (APM, RICS, CIOB)
