Overview As a Project Manager in the Defence-focused Midlands team, you will influence delivery through planning, control, and cross-functional collaboration. You’ll shape programmes to meet client needs, manage scope and cost, and drive governance and change processes. You work with stakeholders to secure successful outcomes on high-profile defence projects. This is a growth space where your impact spans from initial business cases to delivery dashboards and KPI oversight.
Responsibilities - Influence and support client project delivery through planning, monitoring and controlling
- Interact with the project team to define and interrogate scope of work
- Champion suitable programme and project delivery strategies to secure a successful business outcome
- Define programmes and projects ensuring alignment with client needs
- Promote and foster positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Develop and update detailed schedules, cost information and identify variances from plan; manage remedial actions
- Ensure services are delivered through technical, engineering, project controls, commercial and financial support functions
- Prepare Business Cases and obtain approvals
- Carry out Gateway reviews
- Maintain timely and effective change management processes and procedures
- Prepare regular status reports and dashboards
- Prepare and manage the project plans
- Monitor and advise on status of project KPIs
Key requirements - Degree level or equivalent in a relevant subject
- Full UK Driving Licence
- MAPM (preferred)
- Security Clearance (preferred)
- APMP – Practitioner (preferred)
- PRINCE2 – Practitioner (preferred)
