Overview In this role you lead end-to-end project management on infrastructure commissions, acting as the primary client interface to ensure delivery on time, within budget, and to quality standards. You’ll work within the Midlands team on transportation, utilities and highways projects, guiding cross-functional teams and governance. You shape project approaches, manage risks, and drive performance to meet client objectives. This position offers a pathway to senior leadership on large, complex schemes and advisory initiatives.
Responsibilities - Provide strategic advisory at project inception to align approaches with client objectives
- Define and maintain project requirements and success criteria
- Establish governance structures and project delivery processes
- Create and maintain master project schedules and activity plans
- Oversee project development against approved plans and targets
- Develop resource plans and procure necessary resources
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional project teams
- Apply performance management and KPIs to improve outcomes
- Manage change control and budget forecasting/actuals
- Facilitate information flow with client, consultants and stakeholders
- Advise on Health & Safety and environmental risks
- Plan and manage quality, safety, health and environment issues
- Interact with client and manage key stakeholder relationships
- Prepare progress reports and project communications
- Identify and mitigate project risks and develop risk responses
- Ensure alignment with client objectives and appointment conditions
- Contribute to business development with existing and new clients
- Monitor financial status of projects and control costs
- SOX control responsibilities may be part of the role
Key requirements - Experience on large-scale infrastructure projects (100m+)
- Degree-qualified (Civil Engineering) preferred
- Chartered/qualified with ICE, APM, RICS or equivalent preferred
- Strong track record in delivering projects on time, to budget and to quality
- Ability to lead project teams and manage stakeholders
