Overview In this role you will lead multi-disciplinary design teams across the full project lifecycle for major maritime infrastructure. You provide strategic design leadership, oversee deliverables, risk and interfaces, and ensure solutions meet client, regulatory and safety requirements. You will drive innovative, sustainable approaches and promote digital engineering and climate-resilient design. You’ll collaborate closely with clients, contractors and regulators to deliver robust assets with lasting value.
Responsibilities - Lead multi-disciplinary teams from feasibility to handover across civil, structural, geotechnical, marine, mechanical and electrical domains
- Manage design programmes, engineering deliverables, technical risk, interfaces and change control
- Provide strategic engineering and design leadership during bids, tenders and project development
- Act as the design focal point for major maritime infrastructure projects
- Develop innovative, practical, and sustainable engineering solutions meeting client and regulatory requirements
- Embed health, safety and environmental considerations into all design work
- Ensure constructability, maintainability and reliability across the asset lifecycle
- Support engineering teams in resolving complex technical challenges during design and construction
- Promote innovation in digital engineering, sustainability, climate adaptation and low-carbon infrastructure design
Key requirements - Design Management and Engineering Leadership experience on complex infrastructure projects
- Strong technical background in civil, structural, marine or related engineering disciplines
- Experience managing FEED and detailed design, design assurance processes
- Proven track record leading diverse engineering teams and coordinating multiple disciplines
- Collaborative stakeholder engagement with clients, contractors, regulators and partners
- Chartered Engineer status
