Overview As a Project Manager at HDR, you will lead the planning, coordination and delivery of engineering consultancy projects up to 2M, ensuring scope, schedule, budget and quality alignment. You’ll work under senior leadership to coordinate cross‑disciplinary teams, manage risks and client satisfaction, and uphold HDR quality processes. This role sits within HDR’s Building Engineering Services Group, contributing to sustainable, high‑impact built environments. You will drive delivery excellence and help shape innovative, resilient infrastructure.
Responsibilities - Lead day-to-day management and delivery of projects up to 2M
- Develop and maintain project execution plans, schedules and resource plans
- Coordinate project teams to achieve objectives
- Ensure deliverables are on time, within budget and to quality standards
- Monitor progress against programme and implement corrective actions
- Direct and coordinate work of single or multi-discipline teams through lifecycle
- Define project scopes, assumptions and deliverables
- Facilitate project risk identification and assessment
- Monitor budgets, resource utilisation and forecasts
- Establish client relations and participate in marketing, contractual, design and production meetings
- Ensure compliance with HDR IMS and project procedures; implement QA/QC
- Provide leadership to project delivery teams including Associate Directors and Senior Staff
- Manage project closeout activities
Key requirements - Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline
- 15+ years related experience
- 2+ years project management experience
- Consultancy experience essential
- Chartered Engineer (CEng), Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) or working towards chartered status
- MS Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint; MS Project desirable
