About the Role
Our client, a major utility provider, is seeking a dedicated Project Manager to oversee critical infrastructure projects within their network. This role, based out of the **Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, UK** operational area, will involve managing projects related to the upgrade, maintenance, and expansion of essential utility services. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to vital public infrastructure development. This position is designed as a fully remote role, allowing for flexibility while ensuring effective project oversight and team coordination across designated service areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and close out various utility infrastructure projects, ensuring timely completion.
- Develop project scopes, budgets, timelines, and resource requirements.
- Manage project teams, including engineers, technicians, and contractors.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant utility regulations, safety standards, and environmental policies.
- Coordinate with internal departments, external stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Oversee procurement of materials and services necessary for project execution.
- Conduct site visits and inspections as required, potentially requiring occasional travel within the operational region.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting.
Requirements
- Proven experience managing infrastructure projects, preferably within the utilities sector (e.g., water, gas, electricity, telecommunications).
- Solid understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
- Experience with project management software and tools.
- Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- A degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of utility regulations and compliance standards.
- Ability to manage projects effectively in a remote setting, demonstrating strong self-discipline and organizational skills.
