About the Role
Our client, a prominent industrial manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead critical operational improvement projects at their **Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, UK** facility. This role is pivotal in driving efficiency, enhancing production processes, and implementing new manufacturing technologies. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end management of complex projects, from initial concept and feasibility studies through to successful implementation and handover. You will lead cross-functional teams, manage budgets, mitigate risks, and ensure all projects align with the company's strategic objectives for operational excellence. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and completion of manufacturing and operational improvement projects.
- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Develop detailed project plans, including schedules, resource requirements, and budget forecasts.
- Manage project teams, providing direction, motivation, and performance feedback.
- Identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues, implementing proactive mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Monitor project progress and provide regular status reports to senior management and stakeholders.
- Manage relationships with internal departments and external suppliers or contractors.
- Drive the implementation of new manufacturing equipment and process technologies.
- Conduct post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and identify areas for continuous improvement.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, or a related technical field.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in project management, with a significant focus on manufacturing environments.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex operational and process improvement projects.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing principles, lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Experience with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification is highly desirable.
- Ability to work effectively on-site and collaborate with operational teams.
- Experience within the **Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, UK** industrial sector is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets of significant scale.
