About the Role
Our client, a premier development and construction company, is seeking an accomplished Construction Project Manager to lead significant projects in
Manchester, Greater Manchester, UK . You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of project delivery, including budget management, timeline adherence, quality control, and stakeholder relations. Key Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of construction projects, ensuring successful delivery in terms of safety, quality, cost, and time.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, with robust progress monitoring and reporting.
- Lead and motivate project teams, including site staff, subcontractors, and consultants, fostering a collaborative environment.
- Manage client relationships and stakeholder expectations effectively, ensuring clear and consistent communication.
- Oversee procurement processes, contract negotiation, and the administration of construction contracts.
- Implement and enforce stringent health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures on all project sites.
- Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings to ensure work quality and adherence to specifications.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, developing contingency plans as necessary.
- Approve project-related expenditures and manage change control processes.
- Ensure all project documentation is maintained accurately and compliantly.
Requirements
- Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Significant experience, typically 8+ years, in managing construction projects of varying scale and complexity.
- Proven experience in a leadership role within the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, contract law, and project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, control costs, and deliver projects profitably.
- Professional qualifications such as PMP, APMP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Thorough knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and best practices.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
