About the Role
Our client is a reputable housebuilder known for constructing high-quality homes across the Midlands. They are seeking a dedicated and proactive
Site Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of their residential development projects in and around
Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire . This role is essential for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. You will be responsible for managing site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers, coordinating all activities to achieve project milestones. This is a hands-on role requiring excellent leadership and organizational skills, providing a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the creation of new communities in the
Stoke-on-Trent region. The position requires a strong commitment to health and safety and a keen eye for detail in all aspects of site operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all on-site construction activities, ensuring efficient progress and coordination of trades.
- Develop and implement site-specific health and safety plans, ensuring full compliance with regulations.
- Supervise and direct site personnel, including direct employees and subcontractors.
- Ensure work is carried out in accordance with project plans, specifications, and quality standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and safety.
- Manage site logistics, including material deliveries, plant, and equipment.
- Maintain accurate site records, including daily reports, safety incidents, and toolbox talks.
- Liaise with the project team, including Quantity Surveyors and Design Engineers, to resolve site issues.
- Communicate effectively with clients and external stakeholders regarding site progress.
- Promote a positive and productive working environment on site.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Manager, preferably within the residential construction sector.
- Strong knowledge of building regulations, health and safety legislation, and construction best practices.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in site management software and basic IT skills.
- Hold relevant construction site management certifications (e.g., SMSTS, First Aid at Work).
- Organised, proactive, and capable of making timely decisions under pressure.
- A commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Must be eligible to work in the UK and reside within reasonable commuting distance of Stoke-on-Trent .
- Full UK driving license.
