About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and results-oriented Lead Solar Project Manager to oversee the end-to-end delivery of large-scale solar energy projects. This critical role demands strong leadership, technical expertise, and a proven track record in managing complex construction and development timelines. You will be responsible for guiding project teams, ensuring adherence to budget, quality, and safety standards, and successfully bringing solar installations from concept to completion. As a key member of our client's renewable energy division, this position offers the advantage of a fully remote work arrangement, allowing you to contribute significantly from any location within the UK while collaborating with stakeholders nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all phases of solar project development, including site assessment, permitting, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
- Develop and manage detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
- Oversee EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contractors, ensuring compliance with contract terms and performance objectives.
- Conduct regular site visits (as needed and feasible remotely) and performance reviews to ensure project milestones are met.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, developing contingency plans as required.
- Liaise effectively with clients, regulatory bodies, community stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution and communication.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Civil, Mechanical) or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 7 years of project management experience specifically within the solar energy industry.
- Demonstrated success in managing projects with budgets exceeding £10 million.
- In-depth knowledge of solar PV technologies, grid connection processes, and relevant industry standards.
- Strong negotiation, contract management, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and thrive in a remote , autonomous work environment.
