About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly organized and experienced Civil Project Manager to oversee the delivery of essential utility infrastructure projects in Glasgow . This role is critical for ensuring the timely and cost-effective completion of works related to water, gas, and electricity networks. You will manage all aspects of the project lifecycle, from planning and procurement to execution and closeout, ensuring adherence to strict safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership skills, a thorough understanding of utility operations, and a proven ability to manage complex projects in a challenging urban environment, working closely with operational teams and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end delivery of civil engineering projects for utility networks, including new installations and maintenance.
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
- Procure materials, equipment, and subcontractors in accordance with company policies and project requirements.
- Ensure all project activities comply with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful delivery.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal operational teams.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience as a Project Manager in the utilities sector (water, gas, electricity).
- Strong understanding of underground utility construction methods and regulations.
- Excellent knowledge of project management methodologies and software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
- Valid driving license and willingness to travel to project sites across the region.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
