About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Renewable Energy Project Manager to oversee the development and execution of innovative clean energy projects in the Birmingham area. You will lead teams through the entire project lifecycle, from initial planning and feasibility studies to construction and commissioning, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role offers the chance to work on impactful projects that contribute significantly to the UK's renewable energy transition, within a hybrid working model that balances flexibility with in-person collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of renewable energy projects, including site assessment, permitting, design, procurement, and construction.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
- Coordinate and manage relationships with stakeholders, including contractors, suppliers, regulatory bodies, and community groups.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Oversee the technical performance and financial viability of projects, making data-driven decisions to optimize outcomes.
- Conduct regular project review meetings and provide comprehensive status reports to senior leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field; PMP certification is a plus.
- 5+ years of proven experience in project management, specifically within the renewable energy sector (solar, wind, battery storage).
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders and tight deadlines.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with UK energy policies and regulatory frameworks is highly desirable.
