About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Lead Renewable Energy Project Manager to oversee the development and execution of key green energy initiatives in Newcastle upon Tyne . You will be responsible for managing all phases of project lifecycles, from initial feasibility studies and stakeholder engagement through to construction and final commissioning. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional leadership skills to guide cross-functional teams, ensure project success, and drive the transition towards sustainable energy solutions. You will play a crucial part in expanding our client's portfolio of renewable energy assets, contributing directly to a greener future and upholding the company's commitment to innovation and environmental responsibility, balancing strategic oversight with hands-on project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of renewable energy projects (e.g., solar, wind, battery storage).
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure profitable and timely completion.
- Coordinate with internal teams, external contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and smooth project progression.
- Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and risk analyses for potential new projects.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, local communities, and government agencies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field; PMP certification is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in project management within the energy sector , with a strong focus on renewables.
- Demonstrated success in managing large-scale capital projects from inception to completion.
- In-depth knowledge of renewable energy technologies, permitting processes, and grid connection requirements.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to manage complex projects in a hybrid work environment.
