About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Lead Renewable Energy Project Manager to spearhead significant projects within the burgeoning energy sector , based in our Newcastle upon Tyne office. This senior role requires a strategic thinker with a proven ability to deliver large-scale renewable energy installations on time and within budget. You will oversee all phases of project development, from initial planning and stakeholder engagement to execution and final handover. This is a critical position for an individual passionate about driving the transition to sustainable energy sources and keen to contribute to impactful initiatives in the North East of England, working in a hybrid model that blends office collaboration with focused remote work.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of multiple renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, and battery storage solutions.
- Develop comprehensive project plans , defining scope, objectives, timelines, budgets, and resource requirements.
- Lead and motivate project teams , including engineers, site managers, contractors, and consultants.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring robust contingency planning and proactive problem-solving.
- Liaise effectively with clients, regulatory bodies, investors, and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment and satisfaction.
- Oversee procurement, contract negotiation, and vendor management to secure best value and quality.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; a Master's degree is advantageous.
- Significant experience (8+ years) in project management, specifically within the renewable energy or power generation industry.
- Demonstrated success in managing projects with multi-million pound budgets and complex technical requirements.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with planning regulations, grid connection processes, and health and safety protocols within the energy sector.
