About the Role
Our client, a leading developer in the renewable energy sector , is seeking a highly accomplished Senior Project Manager to oversee the development and execution of their cutting-edge offshore wind projects based in Sunderland . This pivotal role involves managing all phases of project lifecycles, from initial concept and feasibility through to construction and commissioning. You will lead diverse, multidisciplinary teams, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards. This is a critical, on-site role demanding strong leadership and extensive experience in managing complex, large-scale infrastructure developments within the demanding offshore energy market .
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex offshore wind projects from inception to completion.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources effectively to achieve project objectives.
- Oversee contract negotiations, procurement, and supply chain management for project components and services.
- Ensure adherence to all health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations and standards.
- Coordinate with engineering, construction, and operations teams to ensure seamless project integration.
- Stakeholder management, including engaging with regulatory bodies, local communities, and key investors in Sunderland and surrounding regions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years focused on large-scale renewable energy projects , specifically offshore wind.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Prince2, PMI) and relevant software.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working in or managing projects within the North East England industrial landscape.
