About the Role
Our client is looking for a dynamic and results-oriented Construction Project Manager to lead significant projects in the Newcastle upon Tyne region. This role involves managing the entire project lifecycle, from initial planning and procurement through to final handover and closeout. You will be instrumental in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while fostering a collaborative environment with all stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess excellent strategic planning abilities and a proven capacity to navigate the complexities of large-scale construction endeavors.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets, and manage their execution effectively.
- Oversee all phases of construction, including design, procurement, and site operations.
- Manage client relationships, providing regular updates on project status and addressing concerns promptly.
- Lead and motivate project teams, including site staff, subcontractors, and consultants.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring robust health and safety protocols are implemented and maintained.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Significant experience as a Project Manager in the construction industry, managing projects of substantial value.
- Strong understanding of construction project management software and methodologies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in contract negotiation and financial management of construction projects.
- Valid SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certificate.
