About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Lead Solar Project Manager to oversee the development and execution of large-scale solar energy projects across the UK , based in our Birmingham office. This role is critical for ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will lead cross-functional teams, manage stakeholder relationships, and drive innovation in solar energy deployment. You will be instrumental in managing the full project lifecycle from inception to commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end delivery of complex solar PV projects, from feasibility studies to final handover.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, budgets, and schedules, ensuring strict adherence to timelines.
- Lead and motivate project teams, including engineers, contractors, and consultants, fostering a collaborative working environment.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, local authorities, and other key stakeholders.
Requirements
- Proven track record as a Project Manager in the renewable energy sector , with a strong emphasis on solar projects.
- Demonstrated experience in managing projects with budgets exceeding £10 million.
- Excellent understanding of solar technology, grid connections, and UK planning and regulatory processes.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Relevant project management qualification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is highly desirable.
