Overview In this role you own and deliver a portfolio of five to ten grant-funded R&D projects, coordinating planning, budgeting, and reporting to funders. You work closely with science and engineering teams to translate technical work into funder-ready updates and manage partner relationships and risk. You’ll travel to partner sites and national labs, communicating across engineers, researchers and leadership. This is a pivotal, hands-on role shaping the UK’s quantum computing programme.

Responsibilities - Manage a portfolio of five to ten concurrent grant-funded projects including Innovate UK collaborative R&D
- Write technical progress reports and presentations for funders
- Forecast and balance resources across projects with technical leads
- Run quarterly claims and financial reporting with Finance
- Coordinate consortium activities and partner meetings
- Lead initial engagement with prospective partners to form new consortia and host workshops
- Track dependencies between grant projects and company roadmap
- Support new grant applications with project plans and risk sections
Key requirements - Three years’ experience managing a portfolio of three or more publicly funded R&D projects (value ≥ 3M)
- Excellent technical writing with demonstrable samples
- STEM degree or comparable technical background
- Proficiency with Jira and experience delivering through hybrid delivery
- Flexibility to work with distributed teams across time zones
