Overview In this Senior Project Manager role, you will lead medium to large construction projects end-to-end from inception to handover, working within an integrated team. You’ll mentor and supervise Project Managers, ensure training, and manage client relationships to deliver quality outcomes. The position sits within AECOM Buildings + Places, contributing to impactful infrastructure that benefits communities. You’ll engage across design, procurement, site delivery, and contracts to drive successful project delivery and new opportunities.

Responsibilities - Lead and deliver project management commissions on time and to quality standards
- Coach and motivate Project Managers, associates, and apprentices
- Ensure staff training and competency within reporting teams
- Oversee outputs and sign-off of management information before issue
- Foster strong client relationships and cross-functional collaboration
- Interface with clients (new and existing) as main point of contact
- Manage design coordination, tender documents, appraisals and negotiations
- Formulate and manage construction contracts and procurement
- Drive business development and cross-selling opportunities
- Maintain project finances, resourcing, audits, and reviews; develop fee proposals
- Support Project Managers toward Professional Chartership
- Participate in recruitment and retention activities; ensure relevant training
Key requirements - Professional qualification in Project Management/Construction/Engineering/Quantity Surveying
- Chartered status with RICS, CIOB, RIBA, ICE or equivalent
- Experience in a consultancy environment
- Strong understanding of roles in construction projects and lifecycle
- Proven experience in Healthcare, Life Science, Tertiary Education or Defence sectors (preferred)
- Excellent understanding of construction contracts
- Knowledge of CDM 2015 and statutory compliance
