Overview In this role you lead end-to-end project management commissions for infrastructure programmes, guiding projects from inception to delivery. You act as the primary client interface to ensure objectives are met on time, within budget, and to required quality standards. You establish governance, plans, budgets, and risk controls while coordinating cross-functional teams. You work closely with clients, consultants, and stakeholders to drive successful outcomes on complex schemes with significant scale.
Responsibilities - Provide strategic advice at project inception to define approaches that meet client objectives
- Define project requirements and success criteria (time, cost, technical, performance)
- Establish governance, processes, and systems for the project
- Create and maintain the master project plan and schedules
- Develop and implement resource plans and procure resources
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional project teams
- Apply performance management techniques and KPIs to improve delivery
- Manage change control and cost forecasting against budgets
- Coordinate information flow with client via meetings and reports
- Identify and mitigate project risks and prepare risk responses
- Prepare formal progress reports and client-facing updates
- Interface with client, other consultants and manage stakeholders
- Advise on Health & Safety and Environmental issues and risks
- Plan for and manage quality, safety, health and environment issues
Key requirements - Degree in Civil Engineering (ideally)
- Experience on large scheme projects (100m+)
- Chartered/qualified with ICE, APM, RICS or equivalent (preferred)
- Ability to manage projects to quality, time, and budget targets
