About the Role
Our client is at the forefront of the renewable energy revolution and is seeking a seasoned Lead Renewable Energy Project Manager to spearhead crucial projects in
Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear, UK . This high-impact position requires a leader with a proven track record in managing complex energy infrastructure projects from conception through to completion. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of safety and quality, contributing significantly to our client's mission of expanding clean energy capacity. The role involves extensive stakeholder management, risk assessment, and strategic planning within a fast-paced and innovative industry environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the end-to-end management of renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, and battery storage installations.
- Develop detailed project plans, scope documents, budgets, and schedules, ensuring all project phases are meticulously defined and controlled.
- Manage project risks, issues, and changes effectively, implementing mitigation strategies and contingency plans as needed.
- Lead and motivate multidisciplinary project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Liaise with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, local communities, suppliers, and contractors, to ensure smooth project progression and compliance.
- Monitor project progress, performance, and financial health, providing regular and accurate reports to senior management.
- Ensure all projects adhere to the strictest safety regulations, environmental standards, and quality requirements.
- Identify opportunities for project optimization and continuous improvement in project delivery methodologies.
Requirements
- A degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 7 years of project management experience, with at least 5 years specifically within the renewable energy sector (wind, solar, storage).
- Demonstrated success in managing projects with budgets exceeding £10 million.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile) and tools.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in contract negotiation and management with EPC contractors and key suppliers.
- In-depth knowledge of renewable energy technologies, site development, and regulatory frameworks in the UK .
- Ability to travel as required to project sites and stakeholder meetings.
