About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and results-driven Lead Renewable Energy Project Manager to oversee key projects in the Newcastle upon Tyne area. This pivotal role involves managing the entire lifecycle of renewable energy projects, from initial feasibility studies and design through to construction, commissioning, and handover. You will be responsible for coordinating diverse teams, managing budgets, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering projects to the highest standards of quality and safety. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all phases of renewable energy projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
- Develop and manage project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure project success.
- Coordinate with internal departments, external stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and contractors to facilitate project progress.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, ensuring all operations comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Oversee the procurement process, including tendering, contract negotiation, and vendor management.
- Prepare regular project status reports for senior management and clients, highlighting progress, challenges, and key decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Proven track record of at least 8 years in project management , with a significant portion dedicated to renewable energy projects (e.g., solar, wind, battery storage).
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile) and tools.
- Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale budgets and complex stakeholder relationships.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with UK energy market regulations and planning processes.
