About the Role
Our client, a prominent player in the renewable energy landscape, is seeking an accomplished Lead Renewable Energy Project Manager to spearhead significant projects from their **Newcastle upon Tyne** office. This role is crucial for driving the successful execution of large-scale solar, wind, and energy storage initiatives. You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This is a leadership position offering the chance to influence the direction of sustainable energy development in the North East region. We are looking for a strategic thinker with a proven track record in managing complex energy infrastructure. Your expertise will be vital in navigating regulatory landscapes and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the full project lifecycle for renewable energy installations, from initial planning and development through to commissioning and handover.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation for projects in **Tyne and Wear**.
- Lead and motivate project teams, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment.
- Manage stakeholder relationships, including clients, contractors, regulatory bodies, and local communities.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring proactive problem-solving and contingency planning.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
- Conduct site visits and progress reviews to monitor project performance and address any issues.
- Prepare comprehensive project reports and present findings to senior management and clients.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within project management processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field; PMP or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
- Significant experience (7+ years) in project management, with a substantial portion dedicated to the renewable energy sector.
- Demonstrated success in managing multiple complex projects simultaneously, from inception to completion.
- Strong understanding of solar PV, wind energy, battery storage, or other renewable technologies.
- Expertise in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to manage budgets and control project costs effectively.
- Knowledge of UK energy market regulations and permitting processes is a plus.
- Willingness to travel within the **Newcastle upon Tyne** region as required.
