About the Role
Our client, a global leader in sustainable energy infrastructure, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Project Manager to oversee the development and execution of cutting-edge offshore wind energy projects. Based in
Newcastle upon Tyne , this critical role will involve managing all phases of project lifecycle, from initial concept and feasibility studies through to construction, commissioning, and handover. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all aspects of offshore wind farm projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closing.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate and liaise with internal teams, external contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage project stakeholders, including investors, local communities, and government agencies.
- Oversee the procurement process for equipment and services.
- Track project progress, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Report project status, key milestones, and financial performance to senior management.
- Foster a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement within project teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil) or a related technical field. PMP or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
- Significant proven experience (7+ years) in project management, specifically within the renewable energy sector, with a strong emphasis on offshore wind.
- Demonstrated success in managing large-scale, complex infrastructure projects from inception to completion.
- In-depth understanding of offshore wind technology, project development processes, and supply chains.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
