About the Role
Our client is seeking a seasoned and driven Lead Renewable Energy Project Manager to oversee critical projects in Newcastle upon Tyne . You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of diverse renewable energy initiatives, from initial conception and feasibility studies through to construction, commissioning, and handover. This role requires a strategic leader who can navigate complex stakeholder landscapes, manage budgets effectively, and ensure the successful delivery of projects that contribute to a sustainable energy future. You will work closely with engineering, procurement, and construction teams, fostering collaboration in a hybrid work model that balances remote flexibility with essential on-site engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale renewable energy projects (solar, wind, battery storage).
- Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, ensuring adherence to key milestones and financial targets.
- Coordinate and collaborate with internal teams, external contractors, regulatory bodies, and community stakeholders.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, implementing effective contingency plans.
- Oversee the procurement process for equipment and services, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to project teams, fostering a culture of safety, performance, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in project management within the energy sector , with a strong focus on renewables.
- Demonstrated success in managing multiple complex projects simultaneously from initiation to completion.
- In-depth knowledge of renewable energy technologies, development processes, and regulatory environments.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working within a hybrid work environment , adapting effectively to different working modes.
