About the Role
Our client, a dynamic and innovative company at the forefront of the
Energy transition, is seeking a highly accomplished Senior Project Manager to lead critical energy storage projects. This position is based within our esteemed engineering hub in
Bradford, West Yorkshire, UK , and operates on a remote basis, offering significant flexibility to manage projects effectively from a distance. You will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of complex energy storage solutions, from initial concept and feasibility studies through to project commissioning and handover. This role demands exceptional leadership, strategic planning capabilities, and a proven track record of managing multi-million-pound projects within the energy sector. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of energy storage technologies, project finance, and stakeholder management. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, construction, and operations, to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. This remote role requires a high degree of autonomy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build strong relationships with clients and partners virtually. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the full project lifecycle for energy storage solutions, including feasibility, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.
- Develop detailed project plans, budgets, schedules, and resource allocation strategies.
- Manage project risks, issues, and changes effectively, implementing mitigation strategies as needed.
- Lead and motivate multidisciplinary project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and contractors, ensuring clear communication and managing expectations.
- Ensure projects adhere to all relevant health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Manage procurement processes, including tendering, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
- Monitor project progress, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide regular status reports to senior management.
- Conduct post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Stay abreast of market trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes in the energy storage sector.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field; an MBA or Master's degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive project management experience, with at least 5 years focused on the energy sector, specifically in renewables or energy storage.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
- Strong knowledge of energy storage technologies (e.g., Li-ion, flow batteries) and their integration into power systems.
- Excellent understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., PMI, Prince2).
- Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, adept at remote collaboration.
- PMP or equivalent project management certification is highly desirable.
