About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and organized Operations Manager to oversee their expanding portfolio of renewable energy projects, based in Leeds . This critical role involves managing the day-to-day operations of solar, wind, and battery storage facilities, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and compliance. You will lead a team of site technicians and support staff, drive operational efficiency, and contribute to the company's mission of delivering clean, reliable energy. This hybrid role offers the chance to balance strategic planning and team management with hands-on oversight of vital energy infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the operational performance of renewable energy assets, including solar farms, wind turbines, and energy storage systems.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to maximize energy generation, minimize downtime, and ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Oversee maintenance schedules, including preventative and corrective maintenance, ensuring all assets are functioning safely and efficiently.
- Lead and motivate a team of operations staff, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
- Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards applicable to energy operations.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs ), generate reports, and present findings to senior management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in operations management, preferably within the renewable energy or utilities sector.
- Proven ability to manage multiple sites and complex operational processes effectively.
- Strong understanding of the technical aspects of solar, wind, and battery storage systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with SCADA systems and other operational management software is advantageous.
